The small modern classic bathroom remodel in the Fixer Upper Main House is finally DONE! Photos don’t really do it justice and are tricky to take in a small space. But I go into each area with photos and links to products in the post below. Without further ado, here is a quick video reveal of the small modern classic bathroom remodel! Hope you love it as much as I do.
I’m really excited to jump into the finished photos, but first let’s remember where we started. Here is the before photo in all its dreary glory. Oh man…
You can check out the bathroom demolition and framing updates here. I had the plan for the remodel all worked out before starting. Check out my remodel design and planning post here. Now lets get into the remodel details.
The Vanity:
The huge gorgeous brass framed mirror with a recessed medicine cabinet is giving me LIFE!
So many things that I love in this photo!
- The huge gorgeous brass framed mirror with hidden medicine cabinet wall storage. I ordered this from Pottery Barn and am soooo pleased with it. Link to the medicine cabinet mirror here. You can find a very similar, less expensive version on Amazon.com here.
- The matching brass three globe vanity light from West Elm, link here. I went back and forth trying to decide between two globes or three. I love the amount of light this three globe fixture brings. This bathroom is dark and dreary no more! There are lower cost versions of the two globe sconce on Amazon.com linked here. Or the 3-globe light here.
- The full counter porcelain sink from IKEA, link here. I installed it over the IKEA Hemnes Vanity, link here, with IKEA hackas drawer pulls, link here, for a more modern look. You can see the vanity cabinet in the linked Youtube video at the top of this post.
- The matte black bathroom sink faucet, link here, brings more black into this area of the bathroom. Later you’ll see I used black hardware in the shower.
- The simple towel hook, link here, keeps hand towel operation quick and easy.
- The tiled wall storage nook is a great place to keep our toothbrushes off the sink countertop.
The Bath Shower:
Bringing in black shower bath hardware adds to some of the “modern” elements in this bathroom. This is the Moen Genta LX tub and shower set in matte black, link here. I used a matching Moen toilet paper holder attached to the vanity, link here. It is just to the right of the photo.
I splurged a bit on that fancy single piece toilet by Swiss Madison, link here. It adds to the modern look of this small modern classic bathroom remodel.
For now, we’re using the rabbit towel hook for our bath and shower towels. I’m not ready to commit to large towel rods above the toilet, and I’m really loving the elegant simplicity of the open tiled wall there.
So far the rabbit hook has been great. I throw the towels in adjacent washer whenever I am doing a load of laundry so it keeps this bathroom looking uncluttered. Link to the rabbit wall hook from Anthropologie here. I like that the rabbit brings some brass into this area of the bathroom.
Bathroom Laundry Area:
I love how the laundry area blends seamlessly into the bathroom design. It’s modern with the black wall cabinet pull from IKEA, link here, and the straight lines of the wall shelving.
The white globe light brings in a classic element, West Elm link here. Amazon.com has a less expensive version found here.
The washer and dryer work great in this space, and I love that they are big enough for bulking bedding and have a sanitize washer setting.
Remember I used an IKEA table top for the laundry counter? I really like the warmth that the wood stain brings to cooler white walls and tile in the bathroom.
For full details on how I designed and installed the laundry area, check out the Laundry post here.
There is water heater is this small room as well, but you might not notice it because I hid it behind a window shade, lol. Here is the window shade in action. Bye bye water heater.
You can purchase your own blinds to hide things out of sight on with the Amazon.com link below.
